If you don't like mushy pasta in your soup, and don't want it to GET mushy 3 or 4 days after you initially make it, and want to cook your pasta in the broth. Do this: Break up thin spaghetti into 1 to 1.5 inch pieces, and dry toast it to a medium golden brown in a non stick frying pan. (In order for the pasta to not get mush it MUST be dry toasted. No fat.)

It adds a nice toasty flavor to your soup, and we've had a pot of soup heated and reheated for five days without mushy pasta. Changes the structure of it somehow.

Can't wait to try the little pasta nuggets, though.

Hope your soup helped to banish your sickly state!
Meanwhile, that pasta looks more than a touch like corn - I had to do a double take :) I should make some homemade pasta, really I should, and put it in soup.

I love the idea of cooking the pasta separately. I also detest mushy pasta in soup.

Chicken soup is the best thing when you don't feel well.

It's a great idea to cook the pasta separately from the soup and I love this pasta - sounds really yummy! Hope you feel better soon!

Katie, your chicken (turkey) soup sounds redic good! WAY fancier than mine! :)

The dough is really, really yellow (hence the resemblance to fresh corn) because I used really good eggs with really beautiful, rich yolks. Really affects the taste and color of the dough.

I just made chicken (actually turkey) soup too!

Zuni broth+stinging nettles+ turkey meatballs with brandied currants, cinnamon, and lomen zest+israeli couscous

Fresh broth is so good and satisfying. Subtlety is queen!

Your fresh pasta looks ridiculous good. I wanna try it out. bookmark! click.
